The award-winning MSA Theatre Department presents Words & Music, an evening featuring songs, scenes, and monologues. Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Brian Yorkey are among the wonderful composers represented.
The evening also includes a one act version of Schiller's Mary Stuart. In brief, Mary Stuart, former Queen of Scots, is imprisoned in England, where her very existence poses a threat, both personal and political, to her Protestant cousin, Elizabeth I. As Elizabeth hesitates over decreeing her rival's fate, Mary pleads for a face-to-face meeting but in the swirl of intrigue that surrounds both women, whom can either one trust?
Words & Music performs Friday and Saturday evenings January 24th and 25th at 7:00pm with a matinee on Sunday, January 26th at 2:00pm. Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com and at the door.
