An uncertain dance for uncertain times, "Surrender Dorothy" loops the monotony, anxiety, grief, and bleakness of the new decade. Durational, repetitive, and at times, sexy, this piece seeps itself into its own sadness. How does the unique dancing body reflect sorrow? How is this melancholy processed, regurgitated, and eventually celebrated? How do we adopt our pain and eventually wear it as armor? What if there is no return to a state of normalcy after this type of mourning? What if there was only mourning to begin with? In response, Surrender Dorothy is an unhealed wound: quietly and defiantly so.

Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a more experimental theater piece "done differently" that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that will have you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.
NO REFUNDS will be granted.
