Of Sound Mind

Mental health is a struggle for so many.

The Oregon Chorale explores living with mental and behavioral concerns with a program that struggles, empowers, and ultimately brings belonging through music and community. Of Sound Mind shines a light on the loneliness and hurt that can overwhelm us sometimes and the healing that can come from sharing.

This concert will feature music by a variety of living composers including Eric Whitacre, Jake Runestad, and Andrew Jacobson. It also features a poem by American poet Sara Teasdale plus the song You Will Be Found from the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, a show that has resonated with the mental health community throughout the world.

We will be joined by singers from the Maybelle Community Center which, for over 25 years, has offered support for people at risk of social isolation due to mental or physical challenges, addiction, and trauma. Representatives from the Hawthorn Walk-In Center, HomeWatch Caregivers and more will provide information for those in need.
