This Broadway hit features all the best songs for women from the famed award winning composer/lyricist, Jerry Herman. From such immortal musicals as Mame, Hello Dolly!, Milk and Honey, Mack and Mabel, A Dtay in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine and La Cage Aux Folles, Jerrys Girls is a dazzling musical that pays tribute to some of the most popular and most successful heroines of all time.
Jerry Herman (1931-2019) holds the distinction of being the only composer/lyricist in history to have had three musicals that ran more than 1,500 consecutive performances on Broadway. His string of awards and honors includes multiple Tony Awards, Grammys, Olivier Awards, Drama Desk Awards, the Johnny Mercer Award, the Richard Rodgers Award, the Oscar Hammerstein Award, the Frederick Loewe Award, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Theatre Hall of Fame and, most recently, The Kennedy Center Honors.
Our Oklahoma production wont disappoint. You may not see Carol Channing or Chita Rivera in this version, but our local belters will bring you back to Hollywoods Heydays.
The show will be directed by Lyric Theatre's Matthew Sippress-Banks, who was involved with the original production on Broadway.
