Every estranged member of the Lafayette clan has descended upon the crumbling Arkansas homestead to settle the accounts of the newly-dead patriarch. As his three adult children sort through a lifetime of hoarded mementos and junk, they collide over clutter, debt and a contentious family history. But after a disturbing discovery surfaces among their fathers possessions, the reunion takes a turn for the explosive, unleashing a series of surprises and confrontations. Playwright Brandon Jacobs-Jenkins won 2014 Obie Award for Best New American Play for this funny, touching and extremely topical piece of theatre. The Gestalt Theatre Project, acclaimed for such past productions as The Pillowman, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, American Buffalo and True West, returns for the first time since 2019.
