2021 LULA WASHINGTON DANCE THEATRE KWANZAA FESTIVAL
Lula Washington Dance Theatre presents its 2021 Kwanzaa Festival - three days of high velocity dancing and drumming, mixing African Dance, Modern dance, cultural dance forms and ballet in unforgettable ways! This year our Kwanzaa Festival will be held on our outdoor COVID aware performance stage located within the LWDT Parking Lot at 3773 Crenshaw Boulevard, LA CA 90016 in the historic Crenshaw Corridor in Los Angeles.
All attendees must bring photo identification and show proof of Vaccination or Negative test from within 72 hours.
Huddle-up, Cuddle-up and Snuggle-up under the stars while you enjoy the performance. Wear a jacket, scarf and warm hat! Bring your own blankets too! We'll have heat lamps to help keep you warm!
This is a cultural celebration, not a religious holiday observance. Lula's program illuminates the seven principals of Kwanzaa, all of which advocate for the well-being and centering of families; children; and communities.
The celebration features a blending of Lula Washington's youth dancers and the professional members of her acclaimed international touring company.
Each night the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, (LWDT) will acknowledge and thank members of the LWDT UMOJA CIRCLE. The Umoja Circle is made up of Individuals, Families, Organizations and Foundations that help LWDT to grow through contributions that make a significant impact on our ability to maintain our dance home, the LWDT company, our school, community engagements and on-going programs.
