48th Annual New Year's Day Marathon Fundraiser: Day Passes
From 11 am to midnight on Saturday, January 1, 2022, we are excited to welcome you to our first ever hybrid Marathon, where well be alternating between hours of pre-recorded readings and hours of live performances at the church. Prioritizing as always the health and safety of our community, this hybrid style allows us to offer a range of options for audience participation: the event will once again be live-streamed for free for those who want to tune in from home; well have tickets available for each discrete live hour; and well also be offering a limited number of day passes.

Well begin individual hour ticket sales at the end of November, but for now we are pleased to reach out with advance access to our Marathon Day Passes. With a day pass, you are welcome to join for any/all of the in-person performance hours, and to watch a projection of the pre-recorded hours in the Sanctuary. This years performers will include Miguel Gutierrez, Joan La Barbara, M. Lamar, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Pamela Sneed, Anne Waldman.

In addition to being a beloved community event where we have gathered together to set intentions and celebrate creativity for almost fifty years, The Marathon has historically been our most important fundraiser of the year. Ticket revenue sustains our calendar of events, learning programs, and publications presented throughout the year, all of which are important paid opportunities for about 500 poets, artists, writers, performers, and teachers annually.

To protect the health and well-being of our performers, audience, and event staff, we will be limiting attendees to 50% capacity, with a maximum of 150 people in the Sanctuary at any time. By dividing up ticket sales in this way, we hope it will still be possible to welcome the ~1,500 people who have joined us for Marathons in the past, while also meeting our fundraising goals.

We would be so pleased to welcome 2022 together with you as we have for so many years. We are offering day passes for sale at a sliding scale rate of $120 - $250. At the end of the month, well begin offering tickets to individual hours for $20 each. We are profoundly grateful for and honored by the support of our community, organized around our shared commitment to the radical possibility of experimental poetry and performance.
