Y-Ski Registration & Equipment Rental 2022

Sign up for the 2022 Y-Ski lessons and equipment rental here by Wednesday, December 8th! Lessons will run for 8 weeks on Sundays from 1:30-3:00pm, January 9 thru February 27. Youth lessons will be offered this year from all K-6 students and their homeschool equivalents. Only online registration and payments will be accepted.

Equipment pickup will be Sunday, 12/12 from 2-3pm and Monday, 12/13 from 5:30-6:30pm. This will be at the Pincushion Chalet on the garage side; we will keep the garage door open, and masks will be required. Parents will help kids fit their own boots - we got a massive boot grant last year and have replaced many worn-out pairs with brand-new gear! - and Chris and Anne will help fit kids properly with skis and poles. Equipment rentals will be only for families participating in lessons, similar to past years. There will not be a rental-only program this year; that was a concession for the pandemic.

We look forward to coaching local kids and helping keep cross-country skiing affordable for families! We are currently looking for volunteer coaches and assistants to help lead our ski groups. In addition, this will be Tina's last season as Y-Ski Program Director, so the search is on for someone to take over organizing/emailing/communication duties for the program. This is a paid position administered by the NSSRC and is a wonderful, short-season commitment to the most popular kids' program in Cook County. The NSSRC needs an organized and enthusiastic person to lead administrative duties. We would love to have an interested candidate shadow Tina through the process this year and learn what goes on behind-the-scenes.
