Claudio Monteverdi helped created the musical genre we now call 'opera', and his masterpiece l'Orfeo is perhaps the oldest opera still performed regularly. The tragic journey of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of the great stories of all time and is accompanied by gloriously beautiful music. Masks are required.
