Chicago, 1920's. Obsessed with stardom, salacious headlines, and jazz music, this musical is framed like the vaudeville theatre days. CHICAGO follows Roxie and Velma as they work to free themselves from the murderous crimes they've committed. Utilizing the talents of slick lawyer, Billy Flynn, and the less than legal talents of the resident prison Matron, "Mama" Morton, the women fan the flames of their newfound celebrity in an effort to sway the jury of public opinion in their favor. Will their schemes work? Well, fame is a fickle thing so your guess is as good as anyone's.
Featuring such famous songs as, "All That Jazz," "The Cellblock Tango," and "Mister Cellophane," CHICAGO: High School Edition is a fabulous play for the family. Please note there are one or two instances of stronger language, and yes, many of the characters in the play did commit a murder. But at its heart, this show is a toe-tapping song, and dance filled, comedic extravaganza!
