Abdul-Bahá Centenary Commemoration Tour
Those who would follow the footsteps of Abdul-Bahá as they tread a spiritual path will deeply appreciate touring His April, May and November 1912 steps within Washington DC. The experienced history is instructional and inspiring. But, most importantly, it is an experience that is still unfolding.

This tour is occurring during a COVID-19 pandemic, all participants, will be connected via a conference call, and, all participants must mask indoors and outdoors, in their own vehicles, and socially distance.

Abdul-Bahá was the eldest Son of Baháulláh, known to Baháís as the Perfect Exemplar and the Mystery of God, a living embodiment of Baháulláhs teachings.

In 1908, Abdul-Bahás period of imprisonment and exile was ended by events associated with the Young Turk Revolution. He undertook an historic journey to Egypt, Europe, and North America. His public talks conveyed the essential message of the Baháí Faith and related it to pressing needs of humanity, emphasizing the cause of peace, the equality of women and men, racial justice, social reform, and the role of religion in society.

Abdul-Bahá passed away in Haifa at about 1:00 am on November 28, 1921. The anniversary of His passing is commemorated as a Baháí Holy Day.

The Will and Testament of Abdul-Bahá has also become foundational to the administrative order of the Baháí community. In it, Abdul-Bahá appointed His grandson, Shoghi Effendi, as the Guardian and head of the Baháí Faith. He elaborated on Baháulláhs writings about the establishment of the Universal House of Justice, setting out the conditions of its election and the nature of its authority. The Will and Testament also envisions the establishment of National Spiritual Assemblies in every country. Since the passing of Abdul-Bahá, the Baháí Faith has become established and institutionally organized in virtually every country. Every year, hundreds of thousands of local Baháí elections take place, and national Baháí councils are elected in more than 180 countries.

The tour takes place in a caravan of cars from 10am to 3pm on November 6th 2021.
