Frederick Douglass Square with Dr. Ruediger Volk
Explore historic Frederick Douglass Square and the Robert Treat Payne houses with Dr. Ruediger Volk. Dr. Volk has given presentations to the South End Historic Society on the history of the neighborhood and Robert Treat Payne's philanthropic activities. He also lives in one of the smallest houses in Boston.
During this afternoon of discovery, Dr. Volk will lead guests around the area during a 30 minute walking tour. Afterward, participants will be invited back to his home for wine and hors d'oeurves as he provides more information about the area and its history.
*Proceeds from this tour will be used to help Discover Roxbury upgrade its fax machine.
