Free Street's 40th Anniversary "Sub-Prime Youth" Kick-Off Event
* Meet the professional and teen ensemble artists * Talk with us about the impact of Free Street * Hear about the year of events we have planned in celebration of our 40th * Take a behind-the-scenes look into our creative process * Glimpse preview selections from our work-in-progress, "Sub-Prime Youth"
"Sub-Prime Youth" is as fresh as a bruise and as thought provoking as an unguarded talk with a screwed-up teenager.
Free Street creates non-autobiographical performances that come from writing generated by creative explorations of the teen artists.
"Sub-Prime Youth", directed by Ron Bieganski, weaves the brutal realism of a Mexican-American family facing foreclosure with the emotional surreal music and movement of the Muses of Destruction.
We will serve food, share conversation with a community of Free Street supporters, and introduce some new people to our work.
When: Friday January 9, 2009 at 6:00 pm.
Where: Free Street Theater. 3rd floor of Pulaski Park 1419 W. Blackhawk Chicago, IL 60642 (773) 772-7248
