Greg Mortenson Author Talk and Book Signing

Greg Mortenson stumbled, lost and delirious, into a remote Himalayan village after a failed climb up K2. The villagers saved his life, and he vowed to return and build them a school. "Three Cups of Tea", both the adult and young readers editions, and the picture book, "Listen to the "Wind", recount Mortenson's unforgettable adventure and the inspiring true story of how one man is changing the world, one school at a time. Expanding on his promise and dedicating his life to building literacy and peace, Greg Mortenson has established over 78 schools, bringing education and hope to over 25,000 children in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

We highly recommend preordering your books; they may be picked up at Childrens' Book World in advance or at the event, or shipped to you autographed after the event. All ticket sales and 10% of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated to Pennies for Peace, a program of the Central Asia Institute, a non-profit organization co-founded by Greg Mortenson with the mission to promote and support community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Each school or youth organization that raises a minimum of $200 will be invited to select a student to present their schools/groups check to Greg Mortenson at the January 31 event. Participating groups must notify Sharon at Children's Book World by January 23 if you'd like a student to present a check at the event.
