Breathing. Living. Feeling.

Note from "Breathing. Living. Feeling."'s Artistic Director:

"Breathing. Living. Feeling." performance is a compilation of both classical ballet repertoire and contemporary ballet pieces, taught and choreographed by myself. Some of the pieces were taught virtually during the lockdown, while others are from the summer intensives.

For the classical repertoire, I selected the variations that I thought would be challenging for the students yet fun to perform. Each variation offers students opportunity to showcase their technique and develop their artistry.

The inspiration behind the neo-classical and contemporary ballet pieces that I choreographed came from my desire to express my feelings creatively. This desire coupled with my love for teaching motivated me to create original works, ones that I could share with my students. I wanted my choreography to reflect the ebbs and flows of life while also highlight its dynamics.

I am proud that all of us here were able to maintain our passion for dance despite the challenges that the past year has brought. I am genuinely inspired by the commitment that many of the students have demonstrated, which in turn, gave me tremendous amount of motivation to continue being the best teacher that I could be. I must say that I have grown to enjoy talking to myself during zoom classes, which I found super strange at the beginning :)

This performance is truly a celebration of our perseverance, our love for dance, and our love for one another. Thank you all for your hard work and let's keep on dancing!
