THE WIZARD OF OZ by By L. Frank Baum, Dramatized by Elizabeth Fuller Chapman
December 6-22, 2013   15 performances only!

Buffalo, NY  Buffalo Public Theatre in association with Ujima Company, Inc. present THE WIZARD OF OZ by L. Frank Baum, dramatized by Elizabeth Fuller Chapman.  The production runs Friday, December 6th through Sunday, December 22 and will take place at Theatre Loft, 545 Elmwood, Buffalo NY 14222.  Performances times are Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 8pm; Saturdays at 4pm and Sundays at 6pm.  For tickets and performance and/or venue information please go to www.ujimatheatre.org or call 716-883-0380.  The Theatre Loft is handicap accessible and parking is available on street and in area lots.
Directed and conceived by Kelli Bocock-Natale, THE WIZARD OF OZ will also feature costumes and sets by Loraine O'Donnell and lights and sound by Chris Cavanaugh.  The cast features Cecelia Barone as Dorothy, Brian Riggs as the Scarecrow, Bobby Cooke as The Tin Man, Eric Rawski as the Cowardly Lion and Loraine O'Donnell as the Wicked Witch of the West.

The story chronicles the adventures of a young girl named Dorothy Gale in the Land of Oz, after being swept away from her Kansas farm home in a cyclone.  The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a children's novel written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow.  Originally published by the George M. Hill Company in Chicago on May 17, 1900, it has since been reprinted numerous times, most often under the name The Wizard of Oz, which is the name of both the popular 1902 Broadway musical and the well-known 1939 film adaptation.  The original book has been in the public domain in the US since 1956.
