Center for Changing Lives (CCL) is a little agency making a big impact. CCL provides the comprehensive, integrated services necessary for households to move beyond crisis to stability, from immediate considerations to future ones. CCL transforms lives and inspires neighbors to build a stable, supported and connected community by providing case management, income support, employment, housing and financial coaching to community members currently experiencing homelessness and those at risk of homelessness.
A TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS: In late 2010, CCL applied for the federal "Social Innovation Fund" grant through Local Initiatives Support Corporation, a competitive process resulting in only 47 awards nationally. CCL was one of only 10 initial awardees in the city of Chicago for its proven track record of successful financial stability work. Based in outcomes, CCL was renewed for the grant again in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Between 2010 and 2012, 416 people received all CCL's integrated, coordinated financial services and 205 achieved an increase in net income, net worth or credit score (49%).
