Workshop: Making Marionettes Move
Open Eye Figure Theatre
Minneapolis, MN
Share this event:

Learn the physical principals behind marionettes and how to discover the special talents for movement of any marionette.  A variety of marionettes from very simple to complex will be available for use.  If you have a marionette that you'd like to explore, bring it along.  As we discover what each marionette can do we will use that to express action and emotion and to develop short scenes.

Taught by Kurt Hunter:

Kurt Hunter has been following his fascination with marionettes for over thirty years.  He has worked on marionettes for "A Prelude to Faust" and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" at Open Eye Figure Theatre.  As a solo puppeteer he has performed in Toy Theatre After Dark at Open Eye, at the Walker Art Center, and at the Jarvis Conservatory in Napa, California.

Coffee, donuts, and supplies included!
