From Sunday Jan 9 through Sunday Jan 16, New York Writers Workshops hosts a writers conference featuring a keynote address from Kim Addonizio, workshops, panels, readings, and cultural events in and around Kathmandu. Faculty includes: Kim Addonizio, Chandrahas Choudhury, Ravi Shankar, Yuyutsu Sharma, Arundhati Subramaniam, Tim Tomlinson, and Brian Turner.

Program
On Sunday late afternoon, everyone will gather for orientation and a welcome dinner. Monday morning, Kim Addonizio will launch the conference with a keynote address, followed by workshops. Every day will feature workshops and a panel discussion. Several readings planned at various locations. Workshops cover fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, essay, travel writing, and poetry. On two afternoons, well hold workshops in nearby temples. One, in the Changu Narayan temple, will be led by Nepalese poet Yuyutsu Sharma. Another will be led by Indian poet/writer Arundhati Subramaniam (temple tba). The temple sessions will be open to everyone. For the on-site workshops (conducted mostly at Hotel Shanker), space will be limited. Into the busy schedule, well carve out daily free time for writing or exploration. NB: all events are optional. Participants are free to attend, explore, isolate, or gather stones together, as the song goes.

Payment
A deposit of $350 secures your space. To qualify for the Early Bird rate, deposit must come in before July 1, with full payment by August 1. After August 1, all space is full price.
Refund* of deposit: full refund (minus 10% handling) until July 1. Half-refund (minus 10%) after Aug 1. No refund after Dec 1.
Refund of full payment: full (minus 10%) until Oct 1, half (minus 10%) after Oct 1, one-quarter after Nov 1, no refund after Dec 1.
*Full refund in the event of shutdown.
