SAI Region 7 Winter Regional Education Symposium
"Your voice..only better" is the theme for this symposium. Region 7 is pleased to bring Sweet Adelines International Faculty member Laura Pallas to our Region for a high energy Vocal Production Weekend Extraordinaire!
Breakout Sessions include:
The Color of Sound! Did you know your voice has many colors? Find out about TONE AND TEXTURE and how your voice can change color; from the warm ballad sound to the edgier uptune voice. Singing by the Book - What book? The Judging Categories Description Book of course! This class will describe how vocal skills impact each judging category-sound, music, expression and showmanship. You will also learn how each category uses a different term to address vocal production.
Articulation - A key element in the Expression category, this class defines it and demonstrates how to master the art of Articulation production.
Directing Skills - From beginning to advanced, learn effective arm-waving skills. Depending on the level of the group, beginning patterns to more advanced techniques such as dipthongs, attacks and releases.
The Art of Quarteting - A class on what it takes to develop a good quartet and how to improve your singing skill together. Including a discussion on what to look for in the voices, goals, how to pick a name, image, picking music, coaching politics and contest.
Then join us in the evening for the "2009 Fabulous, Fun and Crazy Quartet Contest" - (How many are in your quartet?).
