Join us in the art of the tease, and learn basic fan dancing! Class taught by Red Velvet
In this class we will learn basic fan handling techniques, including fan grips, framing yourself with fans, movement with fans, and basic fan movements around your body. We will look at different types of fans and their basic construction, including ostrich feather fans, boa fans, and silk fans. We will discuss the various attributes of different fan types and how to use them to better showcase yourself on or off stage. We will discuss (but not practice) the basics of feather fan making and the benefits of making vs. buying your own feather fans. We will practice movements with a set of small hand fans if you have a larger set of your own fans that you would like to bring to practice with, please do!
Class is December 7, 2013 from 2 to 5, with breaks.
