Kennedy's Children explores the inner thoughts and turmoil of five bar patrons on a stormy Valentine's Day in New York, 1973. Hailing from an array of American cultures, the characters spew out their troubled pasts and presents with a series of monologues that slowly reveal some less than fortunate futures.  The play is populated by Wanda, the Kennedy purist, Carla, the next Marilyn Monroe, Sparger, the off off off off Broadway actor, Rona, the hippie who has run out of things to protest, and Mark, the addled Vietnam vet. Their stories combine to tell that of a generation lost in Camelot circling in an unreachable dream of days gone by.

The cast for Kennedy's Children features Emily Bates (Rona), Colin Fewell (Mark), Caitlin Jackson (Carla), Charlesanne Rabensburg (Wanda), and Anthony Whitaker (Sparger).

Kennedy's Children performs on the weekend of the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on Friday, November 22 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 24 at 8:00 pm.

The reading will run approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes including one intermission.

Chief O'Neill's Pub and Restaurant is located at 3471 N Elston Ave, Chicago, IL (on the corner of Elston and Albany, Avondale). CTA El stops nearby at Addison or Belmont (Blue Line). CTA bus #152-Addison also stops nearby. There is metered street parking as well as neighborhood parking. The performance space is in the 2nd floor bar and there is Theatre is no elevator access.

About New American Folk Theatre
New American Folk Theatre was founded in October 2011 by collaborators Anthony Whitaker and Jamal Howard. The company's mission is dedicated to folk theatre, music, and telling stories that shine a new light on American pop culture. Past shows include original musicals, The Marvelous Land of Oz, Dirt Girl, and Salome Goes All The Way! is New American Folk Theatre's second full production. In November 2011 the company performed a stage reading of Salome Goes All the Way! at The Den Theatre. Kennedy's Children kicks off the company's 2nd season! In the Spring of 2014 New American Folk Theatre will present the musical Appellation folk tale Dark of the Moon.
