STRATIFY, conceived and directed by Katie Shook
Stratify is a puppet and object performance piece exploring themes of vision quest and the desert trip as a search for new perspective. Mirages of large cardboard sculptures give way to a giant dancing dirt mound, which births desert puppets, and turns inside out, becoming a quilt for the sandy floor. Audience will be served a cooling refreshment. With live musical score by Kari Rae Seekins.
This piece is part of the 2013 High Desert Test Sites, with a performance at Arcosanti, an "experimental city" in Arizona. For the Automata performance we will project images from the Arcosanti site.
