Bulbul 2013
Bulbul 2013 is Sandpit Arts' second annual playwriting competition. The winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges comprising: Steven Brett (artistic director, The Nightingale Theatre), Chris Taylor (director, New Writing South) and Ahmed Masoud (artistic director, Al Zaytouna).
Two of the winners of Bulbul 2012 Tunnel (by Mags Chalcraft) and Gather Ye Rosebuds (by Silva Semerciyan) were produced for the Brighton Fringe 2013 as part of our Bulbul @ The Fringe season. Both plays received four-star reviews, and Gather Ye Rosebuds won the New Writing South Best New Play Award 2013.
