The October 31, 2020 Washington District Lay Academy is a collaboration of efforts from the Union Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, the Washington District Lay Council and Washington District Voter Registration Committee. "Let My People Vote" will be a virtual voter suppression educational experience featuring keynote speaker, Rev. William Lamar, Pastor of the Metropolitan A.M.E. Church in Washington, DC. There will also be a viewing of the documentary, "Let My People Vote" showing the struggles experienced by several African American voters in Florida during the 2016 general election. A panel, including some of the persons involved in the documentary, will offer additional experiential comments and answer questions from the audience.
