Professional Development Program Workshop: Fundraising From Individuals
Fundraising from Individuals will help you determine whether and how to start raising money from individual contributors, who account for more than 75% of all the money given to non-profits in America. The topics covered include: working with a non-profit sponsor; forming an advisory board; preparing the right materials for the right donors; taking advantage of new technology; how to put the language and methodology of organizations to work for you as
an individual artist; and how to work with and around venues and galleries.
Drawing from roundtable discussions, research on best practices in the field, and artists' on-the-ground experience, this workshop incorporates a step-by-step overview of the topic, partner exercises and discussion.
Handouts include a timeline for benefit events, information on how to conduct letter and e-mail fundraising drives, and a list of questions to answer before you start to ask for donations.
