Book Preservation Workshop

The Pink Palace Museum will be holding a Book Preservation Workshop on October 17, 2020 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Come learn from our conservator about preserving the books and paper artifacts in your home, what causes damage to these delicate materials, and how to protect them for decades to come! Participants are encouraged to bring a book or family bible that they would like to preserve and will receive a Book Preservation Kit, guidance from our staff on how to properly pack it, and a consultation with our conservator on how best to care for your book. Please have the dimensions (length, width, and height) in inches of the book you will bring available when you reserve your spot, as your Book Preservation Kit will be customized to you.

A Behind the Scenes Tour of our conservation and collections areas is also included, as well as demonstrations of some of the paper conservation techniques we use in the Museum.

Space is very limited for this workshop to observe social distancing and registration to participate and receive the Book Preservation Kit will close October 4th. After that date, you may register to attend but will not receive the Book Preservation Kit.
