Big Thompson Watershed Bio-Blitz 2020
Big Thompson Bio-blitz event will be co-led by the Big Thompson Watershed Coalition and Estes Valley Watershed Coalition, in partnership with Left Hand Watershed Center.
Participants will meet at 9:00 AM at Dam Store, 10103 HWY 34, Loveland, CO, 80537 - parking lot to the right of the store.
As a participant you have the chance to collect meaningful data, take a mini watershed tour, and learn from local watershed coalition staff and watershed scientists.
We will take a break at lunch time and participants will enjoy a free individually packaged lunch. Science leaders will lead participants in an engaging discussion about how the data collection efforts will help contribute to larger understanding of watershed health and recovery from 2013 flood.
For the bioblitz, please wear clothes you do not mind getting wet and dirty. Dressing like your going on a rafting trip works well! We also have a few pairs of waders for volunteers to use. You also have the option to stay dry on shore. Please bring a refillable water bottle and sun protection as well.
Your event host is Big Thompson Watershed Coaltion staff member Courtney Gutman, courtney.gutman@bigthompson.co; 970-699-2906. Please reach out to Courtney with questions!
Note this is a COVID-Friendly Event! Group size capped at 10 people, social distancing and mask wearing required.
