St. Vrain Watershed Bio-Blitz 2020
The St. Vrain Bio-Blitz event is co-lead by the City of Longmont and the Left Hand Watershed Center.
We will be meeting at 9:00 AM at Standstone Park in Lyons (380 Railroad Ave, Lyons CO). As a participant you have the chance to collect meaningful data, take a mini watershed tour, and learn from local watershed scientists, land managers, and anglers.
We will take a break at lunch time and participants will enjoy a free individually packaged lunch. Science leaders will lead participants in an engaging discussion about how the data collection efforts will help contribute to larger understanding of watershed health and recovery from 2013 flood.
For the bioblitz, please wear clothes you do not mind getting wet and dirty. Dressing like your going on a rafting trip works well! We also have a few pairs of waders for volunteers to use. You also have the option to stay dry on shore. Please bring a refillable water bottle and sun protection as well.
Your event host is Left Hand Watershed Center staff member Jessie Olson, jolson@watershed.center, 303-746-7937. Please reach out with any questions.
Note this is a COVID-Friendly Event! Group size capped at 10 people, social distancing and mask wearing required.
