Babe's and Ricky's Inn chronicles the final days of one of the most unique and vibrant blues clubs in the world. For 53 years, Laura Mae Gross ("Mama Laura"), an African American woman from Mississippi, brought musicians together regardless of their race, age, or gender, in her club, where only the music mattered.
Originally located on the legendary Central Avenue in South Central L.A., Mama Laura brought some of the greatest blues artists in the worldincluding Johnny Lee Hooker, BB King and Albert Kingto share the stage with artists like Guitar Shorty, Ray Bailey, Dennis Jones, Zac Harmon and Keb' Mo', whose careers she nourished. Stunning guitar performances and personal stories about the hard blues life come together in a film about what it means to devote your life to the art of the blues.
