The Housing Crisis: What's Next for Puget Sound?
Until recently, our region seemed to be immune from the worst of the mortgage foreclosure crisis affecting so much of the U.S. Is that still true? What can we expect near and long-term? How are federal agencies coordinating their response to help families save their homes from foreclosure? CityClub and Town Hall present a conversation with Steve Preston, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and one of the main overseers of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, which many are calling the precursor to the bailout bill. Prior to assuming his office in June 2008, Secretary Preston was Administrator of the Small Business Administration and has an extensive financial and capital markets background. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life with CityClub.
