Emily Faulkner Dance presents "DEFAULT"
Juxtaposed with awkward, beauty is all the greater. Emily Faulkner Dance presents a new season celebrating eccentricity. In "Default," two strong yet quirky dancers journey together, and at a low simmer, their passions and desires are ultimately repressed by formality and fear. "When the two women are in proximity their complimentary behavior gives off a charge."- Brian Seibert NYTimes. A new film will also be unveiled, celebrating individual movers, contrasting the highly trained with the highly eccentric. A child appears in the midst, an accordionist disappears in a barn, a young man saunters his way around a bright blue pool. Surreal images create an enchanting tableau.
Joining the evening, guest artist Jessica Taylor/DAMAGEDANCE premiers, "Our Masks."
