Posture and Power Workshop
Deepen your understanding of the muscles of the core and the dynamic role they play in posture. Experienced instructor Michelle Howard utilizes the Anatomy In Clay® Learning System to guide participants in building individual muscles of clay on highly detailed scale models of the human skeleton. You will learn attachment sites, relationships between muscles and the skeleton, and applicable knowledge about form, function, and the musculoskeletal system. With this approach to anatomy, learning is enhanced through the interactive, kinesthetic experience.
This is a one-day, six-hour workshop that involves hands-on activity. The workshop has a limited number of participants; each person is provided with an accurate scale model of the human skeleton (the Maniken® model created by Jon Zahourek), clay, tools, and individual work stations. The classroom is located in a completely renovated historic warehouse with modern amenities, conveniently located directly next to a light rail station.
Michelle Howard, RMT, is a nationally certified massage therapist and instructor, with more than 10 years experience teaching the Anatomy In Clay Learning System. She was an associate faculty member at the distinguished Boulder College of Massage Therapy in the Human Science Program and teaches continuing education for the Colorado chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association.
The Formative Haptics Center (a dba of Anatomy In Clay Centers) is a nonprofit facility created to promote and conduct anatomy education using an innovative method of instruction. Our goal is to empower self-discover in each of us by forming anatomy with our own hands.
