Spark of Creation Studio - 2020-2021 Musical Theater Competition Team Online Auditions
MUSICAL THEATER COMPETITION TEAM AUDITIONS:
Students on our Musical Theater Competition team will have the opportunity to compete and participate at the Junior Theater Festival, held in Sacramento, California. This festival weekend will include dance, vocal and acting workshops, and performances by Broadway professionals, and it is sure to be an exciting experience for everyone involved!
Students and parents in our competition teams are expected to fully commit to this program. Competition musical theater classes are 90 minutes, once a week and students are also required to take an additional dance technique class. We are looking for students who are motivated to improve their musical theater skills and excel in their performances. To be a part of our team, students are expected to have excellent attendance, maintain good grades in school, come to class with your material (lyrics, choreo, etc.) prepared, and bring performance quality to every rehearsal.
During this audition, students will need to prepare a short excerpt from a song. Song selections should be 30-60 seconds (one verse and chorus) and can be sung acapella or with recorded accompaniment. For this year's audition, students will be submitting their vocal audition via email to k.oneill@socstudio.com by June 25th.
Participants will then learn a short musical theater dance combination via ZOOM and present it in small groups in front of our panel of instructors. Students should come dressed in jazz dance attire (t-shirt, jazz pants or leggings, and jazz shoes).

Time: 5:00pm (ages 8-Teen)
Audition Fee: $12
The ZOOM audition link will be sent out to all participants once they complete registration.
