Ableton Live - 101
Description: This is an introductory course where you learn the music production process to successfully write, record, edit, mix and produce your own music from start to finish in Ableton Live 9.
The course is broken down into two (6 hour) class days and two (2 hour) workshop days where you will be able to have your questions answered, work on projects, receive feedback and share with the class.
You will receive quick key charts, reference materials, term sheets and a production template. ______________________________________________________________________________________

Day 1: Learn the Live interface and leave being able to create original music and beats using Lives instruments, devices, audio loops and samples.
Part 1: Session View, MIDI and Creation Phase (3 Hours)
Activity: Build your first production template and start creating beats!
The Music Production Process Interface and Navigation Tour Drum Programming and Drum Racks MIDI and transform tools Clips, Scenes and Launching Lives Instruments MIDI Effects
Part 2: Working with Audio, Loops, Samples and Audio Effects (3 Hours)
Activity: Write your first bass line and start building your song.
Working with Loops, Samples & Warping Audio Effects (Inserts vs. Sends and Returns) Convert Harmony, Melody and Drums to MIDI Creative Sampling with Slice to New MIDI Applying Groove
Day 2: Workshop (2 Hours)
Activity: Recording audio and preparing for the arrangement phase.

Day 3: Perform your song into the arrangement. Learn how to refine your song in the arrangement view through mixing, automation, sound design, editing and finally mastering.
