ONLINE: This Isn't What I Planned! Adapting Kinks to Accommodate Aging and Illness
NOTE: This will be an online class via Zoom. Zoom registration information will be sent to all participants after ticketing.

We all age. Many of us also experience the development of chronic illnesses or disabilities. We can plan for some of the physical changes which come with natural aging or illness, but many of us are unprepared for the ways our body change and the way those changes impact our kinky play.

This Isnt What I Planned! Is a class for anyone experiencing body changes which are now (or may soon) impact their kinky ways. The course will cover how to understand your changing body, resources to help you figure out what changes are in store for you, ways to communicate with your partners about your new or emerging physical needs, and tools for adapting various types of BDSM activities to meet your new bodily limitations and continuing desires to engage in kinky play.

This class includes a lot of information for folks living with chronic pain, joint and muscle limitations, autoimmune disorders, amputations, fatigue, hormonal changes through the life span, and changing responses to pain. Other conditions may be included depending on the interests of the participants.

PRESENTER:

Auntie Vice is a long time kinkster experiencing kinky play through three decades with a rapidly changing body. She lives with systematic lupus, arthritis, fibromyalgia, and Bipolar I disorder. She has been working extensively with other kinky disabled folks to bring a voice to the large number of kinky and disabled folks in the kinky world. She has also been researching the many ways disabilities and chronic illnesses change how we play and ways to keep up kinky fun!

Auntie Vice is a freelance writer and podcaster. She has been part of the kink community for more than three decades. An agender, queer, submissive, her work focuses on kink from the right of the slash. She runs the popular blog "Love Letters to a Unicorn" and the podcast "Fat Chicks on Top." She has a BA in psychology and a Ph.D. (abd) in Political Psychology. She brings her background as an academic researcher and understanding of systematic, institutional and personal power to her work about kink.

Publications:

The Big Workbook for Submissives. (2018) Finalist, Golden Flogger Award

Love Letters to a Unicorn: A book about kink, BDSM, and non-monogamy. (2015) Geoff Mains Award nominee.
