NYWW in KATHMANDU Canceled -- Rescheduling for Jan 2022

Following up on the great success of NYWW in Sardinia (January 2020), New York Writers Workshop offers its next seven-day conference, this time in Kathmandu, Nepal. This description provides an overview of the program, faculty, dates, and accommodations. On each conference day (Monday thru Saturday), at least two workshops will be offered in: fiction, nonfiction, memoir, and/or poetry. Each day will feature free time for writing or exploring or both. On two afternoons, we offer workshops in temples (one in Changu Narayan, the other tbd). On several evenings we'll host readings of faculty, local writers, and participants. On the final two days, our conference will intersect with full participation in the Himalayan Literary Festival, featuring local and international writers, also held in Kathmandu. An optional literary trek led by Yuyutsu Sharma is available at the conference closing date. Faculty are: Kim Addonizio, Chandrahas Choudhury, Ravi Shankar, Yuyutsu Sharma, Arundhati Subramaniam, Tim Tomlinson, and Brian Turner. We arrive January 10 for an orientation and welcome dinner. Workshops begin Jan 11 - 16. Himalayan Literary Festival, Jan 16 - 17. Most workshops will take place in meeting rooms at Hotel Shanker (4), where we'll be staying Jan 10 - 17. Fees cover all-conference access, accommodations (single rooms unless doubles requested), transfer from airport to hotel, all breakfasts, three lunches, three dinners, transportation to temple workshops. Does not include airfare or return to airport. Kathmandu is in a valley, hence no issues with altitude.
