Local Edible and Medicinal Plant ID Class (Bridle Trails)
In this class, we'll walk the trails of Bridle Trails State Park (Bellevue/ Kirkland) and learn about all the useful plants we find there. We'll observe the leaf shape of oregon grape, see ripe salmon berries, smell fresh green cedar boughs, munch on the spring tips of douglas fir and so much more. Natalie (that's me!) will also talk about how one might go about harvesting and using the plants we encounter.

This class is for plant lovers, foodies, aspiring naturalists, aspiring herbalists, wilderness survival enthusiasts, outdoorspeople, hikers and anyone who wants to get to know our local useful plants on a deeper level. The class will focus on medicinal uses, with added info on edible and materially useful plants.

About the Teacher: Natalie Hammerquist is a local herbalist and educator who runs and teaches out of the Adiantum School of Plant Medicine (www.adiantumschool.com). She teaches programs, evening classes and intensives around Seattle and the Eastside. Her teaching style is engaging, hands on and interactive. She loves teaching outside and connecting people with nature!

Please note: This class is not for harvesting. Seattle Parks and some parks in King County do  do not allow harvesting. Harvesting in urban public spaces has the potential to create a large impact that you may not be aware of. This class is for informational purposes only and does not condone harvesting in illegal areas.
