EDMUND BAGNELL: HE PLAYS THE VIOLIN
Mark Cortale Presents EDMUND BAGNELL (First Violinist from Well-Strung) in his solo show HE PLAYS THE VIOLIN with DOUG REPETTI at the piano.
This new show was part of the inaugural season this year of New Works Provincetown, a developmental theatre lab founded by Mark Cortale to create and develop new theatrical works in Provincetown. HE PLAYS THE VIOLIN is written by Edmund Bagnell with Michael Schiralli, music directed by Matthew Aument and directed by Varla Jean Merman's long time director MICHAEL SCHIRALLI.
HE PLYS THE VIOLIN includes a brand new song written for Mr. Bagnell by Broadway composter Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens & War Paint). Through stories and song, the evening celebrates all things music, from classical to standards and from pop to Broadway, and of course with a good dose of fiddle thrown in.
This piece shows a different side of Edmund Bagnell in a personal and uplifting journey through music.
