Reading & Rugelach with local author Fran Hawthorne
Award-winning author and Brooklynite Fran Hawthorne brings her debut novel "The Heirs" to the Old Stone House. Join us to hear excerpts from the book, pick up your copy, and enjoy traditional Polish and Jewish refreshments. 

"The Heirs" tells the story of how a New Jersey soccer mom -- the daughter of a Polish-Jewish Holocaust survivor -- who becomes obsessed with the Polish-Catholic family of her 9-year-old sons soccer teammate.

Fran Hawthorne has built her career as a journalist and nonfiction author. She was inspired to write her first novel by a classmate of her sons at PS 321 in Park Slope, along with her own fathers and grandparents escape from Poland less than two years before the Nazi invasion.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and the author will be happy to sign.
