YOUTH RESOURCE BANK CABARET 2020
This Youth Resource Bank CABARET 2020 fundraiser will showcase Tammi Brown & Band playing a rousing Soul and R&B set. Tammi has shared stages with Maya Angelou, Joan Baez, George Benson, and many other great figures.
She has toured the world with the legendary Sista Monica Parker's band and Linda Tillery's Grammy-nominated Cultural Heritage Choir from Oakland as a featured vocalist. The much-beloved, Grammy-nominated Tammi Brown has performed at famed venues like the Apollo Theater in Harlem and the Monterey Jazz Festival. Tammi was the featured vocalist on jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan's Grammy-nominated tune 'Steppin' Out' at the 51st Grammy Awards in 2008.
Special for CABARET 2020, Tammi has invited Youth Singers from the 2019 Stanford University Summer Music Camp where Tammi teaches and mentors young performers. These young singers will perform a broad array of pop, folk, jazz, and soul songs with the backing of Tammi's full band.
The 2020 CABARET promises to burst with fresh & emerging talent. And will also deliver a 'knockout punch' of Soul Music by Tammi Brown and her hand-picked band of the 'best seasoned musicians in Santa Cruz'.
Tammi says, "I'm bringing the most versatile and skilled musicians for the CABARET because I want to showcase our young singers in the best way possible. And then end the evening with a danceable, soul-filled groove. I really looking forward to supporting the wonderful and highly local work of the Youth Bank. I'm told that this benefit fills their coffers for the entire year; we can't wait to be part of the show."
