Bringing Baby Home Workshop for New/Expectant Parents (couples course) *POSTPONED*
***Event Postponed***
A class for expectant and new (or new-ish) parents based on 20+ years of relationship research, the Bringing Baby Home workshop offers a mixture of educational instruction and interactive exercises to give couples the tools they need in order to be a strong parenting team. The focus of this course is on strengthening your relationship, maintaining a solid foundation of friendship and exploring ways to respond to each others needs mindfully, so that both partners feel loved and respected. This workshop is for anyone who is expecting a baby or parenting a child under the age of 3. This class is not meant to be a substitute for couples therapy or individual therapy.
Research results have shown that couples who participated in the Bringing Baby Home Workshop benefited from the following:
A higher level of relationship satisfaction and greater likelihood of staying together after the first year of baby's life.
Less hostility expressed by both partners during times of conflict.
Having a greater sensitivity and responsiveness to their infants signals. This was especially true for fathers.
A more secure father-infant attachment.
Babies of couples who participated in the Bringing Baby Home Workshop benefited in the following ways:
Smiled and laughed more often during family play at both 3 and 12 months of age.
Stronger language skills.
*If you are considering taking this course with your partner, but have questions or would like to explore whether this is a good fit prior to signing up, please contact Rachelle through https://www.pacificparentcounseling.com/contact.
