Sondheim has been described by Frank Rich of the New York Times as" now the greatest and perhaps besk-known artist in the American musical theatre". His best-0known works as composer and lyricist include: A Funny thing Happened on the WAy to the Forum (1962), Pacific Overtures (1976), Sweeny Todd (1979), Merrily We Roll Along (1981),m Sunday in the Park with George (1984), Into the Woods (1987), Assassins (1990), and Passion (1994). He also wrote the lyrics for West Side Story (1957), Gypsy (1959), and Do I Hear a Waltz (1965).
Impresario, Cameron Mackintosh has called Sondheim "possibly th greatest lyricist ever".
In the same narrative format as THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT, Mansfield has written a brand-new show that celebrates Sondheim's life story and career, cleverly mixing in Sondheim's extensive back catalogue with two singers and a live pianist.
This new show features sintgers Laura Murphy and Zac Mansfield, accompanied by Miguel Esteban on piano. Joan Mansfield returns as narrator.
All ages, however some lyrics contain adult themes and mild profanity.
