Eric Williams and Liam Trawick Quintet
Eric Williams is a 19 year old jazz trumpeter from Edenton, NC. Currently living on the Outer Banks, Eric has performed all over the coast and in the Triangle and Triad areas. He has studied with Thomas Heflin and Gabriel DiMartino. Since 2017, Eric has led his own groups and performed with many other groups including Jim Ketchs Swingtet, PTJO, and his own Modern Jazztet. He has led groups, including a 17 piece big band, to the Charlotte and UNC Jazz Festivals. Most recently, Eric performed at the Sharp Nine with the Shaquim Muldrow Quintet. Eric has also been seen at The Fruit in Durham, Raleighs Irregardless Cafe, and The Crown in Greensboro.
Liam is a Greensboro-based jazz saxophonist. His primary instrument is tenor sax and he doubles on other saxes, clarinet, and flute. He is a third-year jazz studies student at UNC Greensboro. His primary teachers have been Chad Eby (UNCG, clinician for Jazz at Lincoln Center), Peter Lamb (Peter Lamb and the Wolves), and Dave Finucane (Durham Jazz Workshop). Liam leads his own ensembles and has played with many other groups, including groups with other young musicians as well as those of long-time professional musicians such as NC Jazz Repertory Orchestra and Atomic Rhythm All Stars. He has played at festivals and other venues including Charlotte Jazz Festival, Duck Jazz Festival, Raleighs Artsplosure, Greenvilles Spazz Fest, Jazz at Lincoln Center's Essentially Ellington, Durham's Sharp Nine Gallery, and Raleighs Irregardless Cafe.
