Astro-Botanical Illustration: Drawing your Moon Plant Talisman
Botanical Dimensions Ethnobotany Library, Occidental Center for the Arts
Occidental, CA
Share this event:

This unique class is a visual exploration of personal affinity towards plants. Artist Paetra Tauchert will bring an astrological lens to experienced instruction on how to see and reproduce images in graphite and color, in order to facilitate a day of connecting with a botanical familiar.

In astrological lore, as there are correspondences between plants and planets, each person has a planet and plant that rules their Moon sign. Paetra will choose a  plant for you to draw based on your own astrological chart to create a personal plant talisman.

We will draw from a combination of live plants and photos, using colored pencils and pan pastels. Some materials provided (see list below).

***At least one week in advance of the class, please email paetratauchert@gmail.com with the subject: "Astro-Botanical Illustration." Provide her with your birthdate, time of birth (ok if you don't know it), and location so that she can help you choose a plant that correlates with your ruling planet. She will source images or plants for you to work from.

This class is open to beginners and will also include a lesson on basic astro-botany.
