Using Natives to Welcome Nature to Your Yard Free Pollinator Series Talk
Managing your own nature sanctuary a Pollinator Pathway how-to talk.
This Pollinator Series presentation will focus on what we can do as gardeners and stewards on our own property to make a difference, to be keepers of our natural heritage. As our speaker, Carrie Sears, says: The beauty and joys of nature start with the plants. Whether it's dogwood blossoms, goldenrod, or red holly berries, the plants shape our sense of place. Plants determine the quality of the living environment, and have a direct impact on the creatures who depend on them, be they Monarchs, cardinals or myriad of other insects and animals.
Carolynn Sears is a UConn advanced master gardener. She gives talks on plants and gardening at the Bartlett Arboretum and neighboring communities, and has mentored countless master gardeners during their certification courses. Her wealth of knowledge of plants, and especially their role in the natural world, has inspired many gardeners, from beginners to advanced.
Free and appropriate For adults and older youth (beginning and aspiring gardeners welcome).
