Basic Herbalism 101 Series
Learn the Basics of Western and Chinese herbalism with Diana Law of the Dianaverse and Community Acupuncture of Burien.

Classes are once a month for 5 months and this is a series, meaning you are signing up for all 5 of the classes;March 14, April 4, May 2, June 13, July 11, 2020. Classes are approximately 4 hours long from 1:30pm-5:30pm. Classes are limited to 20 participants, so reserve your space early!

No refunds after 24 hours before first class.

Take charge of your health with hands on classes on herbal basics~ how to make the basic types of herbal preparations, plant walks/ plant ID, how to use purchased and wild crafted herbs with conversation around sustainability, how to connect with plant spirit to co-create with the plants, best times to harvest and which plants to use to support various conditions. Also basic intro to Chinese medicine 5 element theory for holistic health. All of these topics will have handouts.

There will be a private facebook page and/or MeWe page for questions that come up between classes and for sharing your progress. Since there is approximately a month between classes, there will be assignments to complete on your own time and recommended readings between class meetings to keep you thinking about what we learned in class. It's up to you whether you want to do those, but they greatly enhance your learning experience.

The classes will meet at Community Acupuncture Project of Burien's comfy facility. The plant walks will mainly take place at nearby Seahurst Park which has had extensive native restoration work done. The park is easily accessible by car and the main pathways are wide and paved, but there are some inclines, in case of mobility concerns. The Acupuncture studio is handicapped accessible.

Because this is a place of business, please, no dogs for these classes.

A list of materials will be sent to participants. For all classes, bring a notebook for notes, a pen, and water and/or snacks that you will need to be comfortable. For the plant walks, please wear comfortable walking shoes that will keep your feet dry. Please bring a smile and your best friendly self!

We look forward to taking you on a learning journey with the plants!
