Sturmey Archer Hub Maintenance
Good ol' reliable Sturmey Archer hubs. They run on magic don't they?
Nope!
As hardy and long-wearing as they are, they do require occasional maintenance to make sure they last a lifetime. In our 3-hour morning course you will learn how Sturmey Archer hubs work, as well as how to take a 3-speed Sturmey Archer hub apart to service and clean so they'll run just like new. We'll also learn how to adjust cable tension so that the hub will shift smoothly and reliably.
Things you will learn:
How to fully disassemble the hub and what tools to use The correct teardown procedure and all appropriate terminology Which parts most often need to be replaced, and how to do so
You will be taking apart class hubs, but are welcome to bring your own Sturmey Archer hubs if you'd like to have us help you analyse it.
This is a 3-hour morning class, taking place on Sunday 29 September, 11 - 2pm. The class includes bottomless tea and coffee. If you're an LBK member, you can get £5 off - just enter your membership number as the promotional code.
