Robert "Bob" Powers took over as the 10th General Manager for BART in July of 2019. A 20-year engineering veteran, Bob started his BART career Assistant General Manager in Planning, Development and Construction and now oversees the $2.4 billion BART budget for 2020 which will include early plans for the much needed Second Crossing, TOD project development at the Ashby and North Berkeley BART Stations, 300+ additional rail cars to their Fleet of the Future, continuation of the Systemwide Transbay Corridor Core Capacity Project, and ongoing infrastructure projects using Measure RR funds.|
