The Feminine Comique - Level 1 - Thursday - Jan/Feb 2020
The world of stand-up comedy can be an isolating place for women and for this reason many women are deterred from stand-up early in their careers or before they have even begun.
The Lincoln Lodge has created The Feminine Comique a beginners foundation course that strives to give prospective female performers the confidence and skills they need to begin a career in stand-up comedy.
The Feminine Comique gives students the opportunity to spend five weeks in a supportive all-female environment while learning the fundamentals necessary to write and perform stand-up comedy.
The course is founded on the comedy principles of the critically acclaimed Lincoln Lodge, a national leader in cultivating and developing new comedy talent. Join one of Chicago's top comics, Alex Kumin, for a course in stand-up comedy, offered by the locally and nationally revered Lincoln Lodge, Chicago's top stand-up and variety showcase.
The six weekly 2 hour sessions of this course will focus on:
Joke structure
Finding an attitude and persona
Connecting with an audience
Topical humor
Creating a cohesive set
The class requires no previous stand-up comedy or writing experience and culminates with a live performance of the material developed in class.
Class Schedule is as follows -
Thursday, January 9th at 7:00 pm
Thursday, January 16th at 7:00 pm
Thursday, January 23rd at 7:00 pm
Thursday, January 30th at 7:00 pm
Thursday, February 6th at 7:00 pm
Graduation showcase - Thursday,February 13th at 8:00 p.m.
REFUND Policy: Full refunds are available any time up to 5 days before the first class commences. Refunds after that time are at the course administrator's discretion.
ROLLOVER Policy: If you are not able to participate in class after registration and the refund window has expired you can potentially roll your registration over to the next course session provided space is available. This is subject to course administrator's discretion and a $40 administration fee. Please note there is NO facility to rollover classes once you have attended ANY classes.
